With over 30
years of business experience in sales, finance, and technology, Mr. McDermott specializes in industrial and technology-related companies.
Bill has held professional positions at companies such as Bell Telephone Laboratories,
Booz Allen Applied Research, IBM, DPF, Inc. and Ferris & Co. (member NYSE). He founded Pacific Computer Corporation, eventually selling it to Bell Atlantic (now
Verizon). He later founded or co-founded several entrepreneurial ventures in the areas of technology, travel, and real estate. After a short stint at Morgan Stanley,
Bill’s background in large and small businesses led him to join BTI Group.
He is a member of the International Business Brokers Association and a member and
former Director of the California Association of Business Brokers.
Bill holds a BS in electrical engineering from Michigan State University, an MS in
electrical engineering from New York University, and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. In the past, he has held an NASD Series 7 designation and
NFA Series 3 and 30 designations.
